currency conversion dilemma....(again!)

Ok, pointy end approaching fast (6 sleeps!). Still agonising about how much cash to take and whether to convert here or over there.

Went to Aus Post this morning, rate under 1. 62 - is this ok? I thought it was currently much higher. Would we be better to convert our Oz dollars at the airport on arrival on Sunday? Even though most of the 3 weeks is prepaid (accom & meals) will still need a considerable amount of cash where credit cards can't be used (taxis, excursions, meals away from resort etc).

Does this rate seem ok? Anyone been through Nadi airport of late and know the rate there?

Thanks all for the great info I've got here. It's been 9 months and I'm finally getting to give birth (metaphorically). 6 sleeps to go....

1.62 is a good rate and I'd order the money.

Agree that it is a good rate. Would exchange now rather than waiting till you got to the airport. One less thing to worry about once you arrive. We took $500FJD with us to the Shangri La in March. It was more than enough.

Hi Tetibird,

I'd organise it today as Aust Post usually takes 5 days or so ~~

Have a great holiday.

They shouldn’t take that long. I had my money exchanged in 48hrs. Went on a Wednesday afternoon and it was ready to pick up lunch time Friday.

Would do it as soon as possible though, just to make sure.

Thanks all! It's been the longest time coming, but now it's here!

Can't wait to escape the cold/ wind/ work/ domestic disasters (just a had a week without water, the airconditioner died and hubby ran over the wheelbarrow...)

The only person unimpressed is the cat who is going on a 'holiday" to Auntie's.

All we have to do is survive the 3 am start for the airport.... It will be a long day.

Bring on the cocktails!
