how much money to take for 7 nights

Hi,

me and 5 friends are staying at the Sheraton resort in fiji next week for 7 nights, we have our breakfast included every morning. i am just wondering how much money to take? we dont plan on doing too many activities, as we are mainly trying to have a relaxing holiday where we can tan and drink cocktails before uni starts again. does anyone know roughly how much cocktails are and recommend a good amount in AUD to take over?. we are also not big eaters, and a tiny meal during the day would most likely fill us up. lastly how much is it roughly to visit another island? we have read books and some places suggest its on $90 AUD. is this correct?

thank you :)

It is not necessary to et at the hotel every lunch or dinner. If you go into Nadi town you will find some very reasonable restaurants also there is a pizza place at Port Denarau. Cocktails can be pricey in establishments like the Sheraton

you can expect to pay the equivalent to what you would pay an an upmarket bar at home again there are bars in Nadi that are cheaper. Anything you purchase at the hotel you can charge to you room and pay with a debit Visa or other credit card. Really depends on how much you want to drink for food F$50 per day should be heaps for lunch and dinner if you aren't big eaters.

thanks for clarifying, we are all pretty big drinkers, and think that we would average atleast 4/5 cocktails a day. we are budgetting roughly $1100 FJD for the week, and this is mainly for cocktails/some food and maybe a day trip to another island ( possibly treasure island).

Might be a good idea to get your taxi driver to stop at a supermarket and get a few nibblies to have with your drinks and also buy your duty free quota to have in your room.

Highly suggest to get a taxi into Martintar and go to the local restaurants there --- also have a drink, or two at Ed's Bar. Much better atmosphere than Denarau.

Hope you have a great time...

Julie.

Food and drinks at the Sheraton are very expensive.

You can get cheaper meals at Denarau Marina, there's a number of restaurants and bars there, including Hard Rock Cafe.

Cheaper than the Sheraton, but not as cheap as the area that BaySydney and Hooked On mentioned.

I'd say at least A$100 per day if you are big drinkers. Cheaper to buy duty free on the way into Fiji and buy mixer soft drinks at a supermarket on the way from the airport to the Sheraton. There is a small supermarket at the Marina.
