Yes we did 3yrs ago. It was the best decision we could have made.

Firstly, I would suggest you decide whether you would like to get married on the mainland or an island. The islands definitely have the more beautiful beaches.

Most resorts do wedding packages and I am sure you will find one to suit your budget. Once you have choosen the package you want, decided on a date, time and flowers, then thats basically it! You just have to turn up. The Fijians really make it all so stress free!

Wedding packages range in price as does accommodation at each resort. Depending on your guests requirements, your and your guests budget, whether you have elderly travelers, children etc this will help narrow down accommodation choices and venues for your wedding ceremony.

This site will help you concerning paperwork. But its also something yourwedding co-ordinator will help you with.

Choose a Travel Agent that has been to Fiji, not one that says they know fiji. I think this is most important. So many say they know Fiji but alot in actual fact have never been there.

Musket Cove may be a good choice for you. There are several resorts on the same Island, so there will be a range of accommodation options to suit everyone, including private houses.

If you choose an island and decide to have a sunset wedding you need to be aware of when the last boat leaves the resort. Otherwise you will need to pay extra for the celebrant and photographer to stay the night.

You also need to be in Fiji a minimum of 3 days before the ceremony. Some wedding venues will require you to present yourself at the embassy in either Nadi or Sigatoka. We got married at Treasure and this wasnt a requirement for us as we did all the paperwork via fax/email.

I hope this helps. Let me know if I can help further.

And congratulations on your up and coming nuptials.

Congratulations on the forthcoming wedding.

If you have a number of guests coming to Fiji with you, perhaps you could look at renting a house on Malolo Lai Lai Island, around 45-50 minutes from Denarau Marina via the Malolo Cat.

here's some links to weddings on the island

guess it depends on your budget, which you haven't mentioned.

There's also 3 resorts on the island, all have different prices, from budget to higher prices eg Budget - Plantation Island Resort, medium - Musket Cove Resort, higher - Lomani Resort.

Houses to rent can be seen on Musket Cove website or by googling.

I may add that Gloria at Musket Cove is wonderful, she organises the weddings there.

We were married at Qamea in October 2008. It was truly a romantic, fairytale wedding. Everything was perfect…including the private beachfront setting, flowers, minister, legal paperwork, and even the Fijian choir. Qamea made all the arrangements simple, and totally stress free.

The resort in itself is amazing too. Their 14 bures are set on the gorgeous beach, and have been recently updated; which surprises me, because they were lovely when we visited. The snorkeling and scuba diving right in front of the resort is world class. (we have been diving all over the world.)

The spa is incredible, plus of course, their Fijian staff is warm and accommodating.

Check out the wedding packages on www.Qamea.com

Feel free to private message me, if you would like to see photos, or have any questions.

Getting married at Qamea was the best possible decision we could have made!

We got married in Fiji on March 31st of this year. We did ours at Emaho Sekawa and it was unbelievable! I would highly recommend them!

They have some of our wedding photos posted on their facebook page:

We used a travel agent (Destination World) who has offices in Fiji. Our agent (Lynette Wilson) lives there and has visited the resorts she suggest. Also they were there to meet us when we got off the plane at Nadi and help us find our connecting flights. They were a huge help.

There wasn't a time frame you had to be there before marrying for us, you just need a day to apply for your license. We arrived in the afternoon on the 29th, applied for the license on the 30th and married on the 31st. If you have any questions, feel free to email me. Having just gone through it I know it can be a little confusing and overwhelming!
