2. Re: Kadu

I've got a few Fijian Indian friends I'll ask them as well.

You don't mean Kadavu (which I believe is pronounced can-dar-voo) do you?

Never heard of a resort or village by that name in Fiji, Dave.

Are you thinking of Daku Resort at Savusavu? Same letters different spelling....

I subscribe to their newsletters for Paradise Courses, they have some good ones at times.

Sorry Dave, I've asked everyone I thought might know but nothing came back apart from pumpkin recipe suggestions ( kadu loosely translates to pumpkin)! Suggestions that got thrown up which may help you were qoro and koro although if there was a "na" in front, there were more posibilties again. Perhaps it would help if you spell it like its pronounced as c's in Fijian come out as th and q's as ng, d's as nd and so forth.

Koro? Vuda?

About the closest I can find is Cuvu which is Fijian village.

Got a call back from two of my Fijian friends last night who asked if it was Kadavu as well, which I said no.

thanks again everyone for all the trouble you are going to, she assures me that she has the spelling correct she read the add in a quilting magazine at a friends house so I will get her to get the name of the magazine for me so i can write to the editor as it is obvious that they have made a mistake in the name when printing
