Narrowing down the options !!!

After much research on T.A. Ive narrowed down the criteria for our Holiday destination next year for our 25th Wedding Anniversary.....If i include what we are looking for, I would very much appreciated anyones advise on relevent places and the reasons for choosing those places.

Ok here we go...... An adults only resort, quiet and private.

On one of the outer island, time of getting to the relevent resort from Nadi

7 nights

Own Plunge Pool

Outdoor shower

Nice snorkeling

Options of a fishing charter

And a few activities to keep Hubby occupied (wont sit still for too long)

Is Helicopter transfer the better option than a boat trip to the islands & are the

boat trips rough in the open water.

A huge thanks to everyone who has helped with previous posts, im totally confussed now and need help narrowing down on ticking all the boxes that we are after.

The resorts mentioned in your previous posting Couples Resorts with the whitest sand beaches fit your criteria. Private and quiet with lots of activities. Have look at the resort's websites for activities, prices, and transportation. Also read the reviews, and private message posters with questions you have.

All the resorts mentioned are on the outer islands, have snorkeling, and plunge pools and outdoor showers depending on the accommodations, and fishing charters.

Will add Matangi Private Island Resort to the mix. Didn't mention it your posting as you wanted the whitest beach. The beach at Matangi is soft, but not as white or long as those in the Yasawas. It is also more tidal. Meaning you can't walk on the beach 24/7 like at YIR. Which is known to have one of the best beaches in Fiji.

Matangi has the best snorkeling of all the resorts we have been to in Fiji. Lots of fish, giant clams, blue starfish, and soft hard, and plate coral. That was our #1 must have in a resort. We celebrated our 20th anniversary there. It was without a doubt our best anniversary ever. We returned a couple of years later and renewed our vows at Horseshoe Bay. No plunge pools in the bures,,however, the treehouse bures have jacuzzi tubs. All the bures have outdoor showers, which are to die for.

Wherever we go go in Fiji, we always check the tide charts to insure we can snorkel off the beach in front of the beach mid morning to early afternoon.

Some resorts can be reached by boat, helicopter, or seaplane. Going by boat will be much cheaper. it can be rough depending on the weather. The same applies going by plane, or helicopter. Flights to the outer islands can be cancelled if the weather is bad. Timing is everything. That said, having for vacations to Matangi, have never had a flight cancelled. Getting to Qamea or Matangi requires a 1 1/2 hour flight with Pacific Sun, which is booked through Air Pacific.

It all comes down to budget, and what you want in a resort. It is important to realize that a resort may not have all your "must haves."

The following link has pictures of our last vacation to Matangi. Will give you an idea of the resort grounds, bures, snorkeling, pool, etc.

My best advice is to research any resorts you are interested in then go with your "gut feeling" as to which one suits you best.

Hope this helps.

Apart from the plunge pool (which you don't really need), Yasawa Island Resort fits your profile perfectly.

They have a plunge pool in their honeymoon suite, and when we were there we met a really nice older couple who were staying in it (after staying some time in a Deluxe Beach Bure), and they reckon it wasn't worth the extra for the honeymoon bure because the resort is so private anyway, it's unlikely you'll see more than 10 couples at any time there.

I think during our stay there were about 6-8 couples max.
