E&CinReno - It would be helpful if Fiji decided to announce a switch to daylight saving time well in advance. Most other countries, if they partake, announce the dates for at least the following 5-10 years. As happened last year my flights had to be changed (after booking) so as to catch connections to get home from Fiji in 'one day' (I reside at virtually the bottom of NZ!)

Yes it would be helpful ficarose, if they announced a year or so in advance. We have had to change flights and pay extra. We also got messed up as daylight saving time changed in the states. We usually book six to eight months in advance to get the accommodations we want. Didn't know about saving time in Fiji, and forgot about the time change in the US when we booked.

Fiji hasn't even decided on school term/holiday dates for 2014 yet, so no surprise they don't plan ahead for daylight savings... Guess that's why it's called "Fiji time" ;)

Could be Vanessa. Love Fiji Time, though it take some getting use to on our first trip to Fiji after the hectic pace of life in the states. Didn't take long to go with flow on following vacations. :)

I don't think anyone can ever really gets use to Fiji time, can be very frustrating at times... But like all things in life, I guess you take the good with the bad :)

True. We were very frustrated when our flights to Taveuni were delayed after a long flight from the states. Also again when we departed for home. Once at our resort, didn't mind waiting for drinks or if dinner wasn't served within a half hour. Think there is something about learning to relax and chill out.
