Great Accomodation for Couples, with Beautiful Beaches.

Hello,

My partner and I are travelling to Fiji for our first time for 7 nights, 8 days at the end of August this year, we are struggling with where to stay, as this is our first time we are wanting something lovely, not high end resort, but something middle of the range. We were looking and told The Outrigger or The Warwick are amazing, however through Trip Advisor have noticed that the beaches aren't so great and sand if full of coral and not very comfortable to walk on.. (hence coral coast) Can anyone reccomend anywhere, from experience, and where we can stay at a coupke friendly resort (although we don't mind children at all) and clear blue water, with beatiful beaches.. that wont cost us an arm and a leg. :) Thank You

Hi Samantha, welcome to the forum. There are so many places that would fit what you're asking for but a few more details would help narrow it down. Are transfer distances important? Would you be prepared to spend a night each end in a mainland hotel (could be necessary if you decide on somewhere in the Yasawa's for example). Would you prefer a resort with a pool? Do you want to be able to eat meals alone with your partner or is communal dining an option you would consider? And, most importantly, some idea of the budget per night that you would feel comfortable with would be great.

Meanwhile (just to get you started) have a look at Lomani Island Resort...

lomaniisland.com

Plantation Island Resort (up the beach a bit but separate and very family orientated) has a great webcam (well... it's great when someone hasn't knocked it and it ends up pointing to the sand lol) that you can take a look at to give you a general idea of what the Mamanuca (Islands) have to offer in the way of scenery...

Hi Dianz,

Thanks so much for your response.

Transfer ditances do not really faze us all that much, if we are staying at a lovely place, we don't mind.

Ideally, I think we would prefer to stay at the one place for our first time, and yes a resort with a pool is a MUST. :) We would like to have the option of both eating alone together, and also communal dining also, as we don't mind both but obviously would like to dine alone when we wish to.

Around the $200 - $250 Aus per night we would be looking at... as we were budgeting around $2000 ish for accomodation for the duration of our stay.

I will have a look at the two that you have mentioned also,

Have a look at the website for Navini. Small resort with great soft, white sand beach, and crystal clear blue water. There are some rocky/coral parts, but that is to be expected wherever you go.

http://www.navinifiji.com.fj

All daily morning scheduled snorkeling and island tours are included in the price. The resort has 24/7 transportation to the island, so no need to overnight on arrival/departure or wait around for transfers. Will be at the resort in about an hour of clearing customs. Staying 7 nights transportation to/from the island is at no charge.

Meals are very good, but dining is communal That said you can have meals in your bure. Dinner on the beach is a must.

Another plus, prices are FD so do the conversion to AUD.

The following link has pictures of our pictures to Navini. Will give you an idea of the bures, beach, resort grounds, etc.

Just having a minor panic here Samantha.... just want to clarify that I only mentioned Plantation because they have the webcam. It's a very family orientated resort with kids club etc. Lomani is adults only, fabulous pool, nice accommodation and they have some great specials that can be combined to keep the cost down too. Transfers are easy as well, 25 minutes by taxi to the airport and then one hour by ferry to the island or, recently reintroduced, plane transfers are available at a good price so straight out of customs and into the air and you're in holiday mode. :) Daily excursions are also included.

Samantha

Have a look at a resort called WANANAVU Beach Resort at a place called RAKI RAKI which is about 2.5 hours from NADI while it is on the main island the beaches are OK but you have Islands that are just a 10 minute boat ride from the resort we had 4 ays of picnics on these islands close by is one of FIJIS most exclusive resorts Dolphin Island only holds 8 people but the reason its their is the weather is good plus the coral and fish just around from WAN is unbelievable. They do have some kids but its mainly for couples sometimes dive groups and weddings. They have a huge pool and 4 of the Bures have their very own pools

ENJOY
