First time in Fiji, 7 days, HELP!

Hi everyone,

My partner and I are thinking of going to Fiji around June 2015 for 7 days. We both have never been before and we're very excited to go!

We are looking for reccommendations on where to stay?? We were thinking of spending it at 2 different resorts (3 nights each)

Any suggestions are appreciated!!

Thank you so much!! 😊

Hi Charmaine, could you provide a few more details to help us narrow things down? An idea of budget would be good. Also Fiji can supply holidays ranging from budget backpacker to five star plus (up to, and including, mega movie star type stuff for those who have bottomless bank accounts). I'm guessing that you'll fall somewhere between those two extremes but that still leaves a lot of choice.

First choice - an island stay for the beautiful beach / water / palm tree type of experience

or - would you refer a large resort type holiday where you'll get all the bells and whistles.... flash room, room service, excellent restaurant food, lots of organised activities etc.

Other things to decide include... do you want adults only, some kids around will be okay or are you happy to share your space with families and children?

Or maybe you'd like to travel a bit off the beaten track and stay on one of the other large islands which are known for their hikes and waterfalls (but not so much their beaches) and are quieter and more yesteryear Fiji?

Let us know and we'll try to get you headed in the right direction to start your Fiji holiday research.

Hi Charmeaine, and welcome to the forum.

There are many islands/resorts to chose from. Everything thing from backpacker, large hotel chains, adults only, private islands, and resorts popular with families. Would help us to offer suggestions, if you could give a little more information. Approximate budget? Do your prefer adults only or are those catering to families ok? What activities are you interested in? Snorkeling, diving, river rafting, hiking, jet skiing, etc.

With 7 days, it might be best to spend you time at one island/resort. Transportation between the islands can be pricey, and time consuming depending on the distance between them. Also depending on when you arrive/depart Nadi you may have to overnight on the mainland before heading to the outer islands, and departing for home.

Hello,

Thank you so much for the reply! We definitely are thinking staying in the one island/resort.

We just want a romantic week away with an activity or two during the week.

As for price, what would be available to us if we wanted to spend between $150 to $200 AUD per night?

Also, which Island would best suit this trip?

Thank you!
