Castaway Versus Plantation

We have holidayed at Plantation Island Resort in March this year and loved it. We are looking at returning around the same time in 2007. Is it worth spending the extra money to go to Castaway Island Resort. We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children 6yo and 2yo boys).

Thanks Zorcon will do. Have you checked out the price package for Castaway through Pacific Holiday Specialists. They are offering all meals(B, L and D) at $99AUD for adults and $50AUD for children for the entire stay. Seems a good deal to me.

If you can afford it I would definitely choose Castaway over Plantation!!! Much nicer in my opinion.

Act, glad you loved Plantation but to someone who has been going there for years, it really has been overbuilt and has become way too crowded. Peak times are now intolerable. Our work schedule has confined us to going only in August, nice climate but now too crowded. Castaway would be good. I have wanted to stay there but it's just too steep.

The kids stay for free, and the food is great, the entire island is beautiful, the beach the finest by far i recon in the entire mamanuca groups, staff are always there when you need help, the rooms very spacious, not so close to the other bures, so lots of privacy, the beach is always cleaned, and the kids will have so much activities to keep them busy, and AC try the upside down banana cake, i'm serious, it will blow you away!!! so choose Castaway you wont regret it, it's money well spent, and a damn brilliant holiday acoommodation and lovely views, it's just beautiful out there, and you and your partner can do your own thing also, so it's very safe and just amazing.

Hi ho ACTtraveller,

Have to agree with the others and say that Castaway is just beautiful,we have stayed there often and we love it. The staff are fantastic and they love children. The meals are great and the beach bures are spot on. Cant take money with us so spend it while you have the chance to do so and im sure you wont regret it.

Hope you have a great holiday no matter where you end up. We are also going to Fiji in March for a mth and i cant wait.

Cheers...Warwick.

Go Castaway, we have just returned. Can't sing enough praise for this wonderful place. The meals are just to die for and the meal deal is excellent value. The island even provides you with fresh clean beach towels each day, the bures are beautifully furnished and set out - lots of privacy. We didn't have our kids with us, but the kids club seemed wonderful. There is so much to do and you can be as active or as lazy as you care :)

You certainly won't regret Castaway - bite the bullet and ENJOY. Cheers.

Thankyou to everyone for their comments. Just a couple more questions: Does the accommodation come with air conditioning? What is the cost of babysitting at Castaway?

no air con but there are ceiling fans and a free standing fan as well. sorry don't know cost of a baby sitter as our children didn't need one, but plenty of people used one for their younger children.
