Fiji Shangri La Travel Floods

Just wondering if anyone has been to Shangri la recently. We are travelling there in 4-5 wks I am extremely concerned about the after effects, such as Typhoid and faecal contamination which is widely spread in floods. The travel industry are palying it down , but with 2 littlies you cant be too careful!!

It's a personal decision you have to make but I would not be overly concerned staying at the Shangri-la and if you practise good hygiene like you would at home.

The Resorts have a lot to lose if ever a typhoid breakout happened in their resort and they are well managed with trained staff in the main.

I reckon I'd have more chance of getting something from fellow plane passengers but that's my opinion and the risk I take when travelling.

I'm an ex-pat living in Nadi.

To be honest there are no real health issues here at the moment. If you're not wading around in swamps and farming in your bare feet - you'll be ok. :)
