5 hours in transit lounge

Hi, After flying from Christchurch, we will have a 5+ hour wait (from 5pm to 10.20pm) at Nadi before flying on to LA. Can anyone tell us about the transit lounge facilities, etc, or any other options for a restful, relaxing time?Thank you.

Check in as early as possible for your next flight, then catch a taxi into town to the Bounty Pub for a great steak and a few beers. Have the taxi driver stay or come back for you with about an hour and a half to go.

Definitely check in as early as possible. Ask the counter what time check-in commences, then get in the queue 1/2 hour earlier than that and wait. The lines are long- very long.

I would say yur luggage will be checked through to LA in which case y9u will not able able to leave the airport. Depending on the airline the check in is 2 to 3 hour before your flight, so you will not have long to go anywhere as you will need to be back at the airport at least 3/4hr prior to the flight to get through customs and immigration boarding commences about 1/2 hour prior. At least 30min trip into Nadi and same return so really is it worth it. I would probably just go across the road too the Raffles Gateway Hotel and have a swim or a cool drink and relax in nice surroundings. You can access the duty free shops at the airport and get something to eat and drink.

Assume you are flying with Air Pacific. Would check with them to see, if you can leave the airport. If you can, agree with Hooked on Fiji. Would go to Raffles if time allows. Air Pacific requires a two to three hour check in. They close their gates for international flights one hour before flight departure so would be at the airport 2 hours before your flight departs to give plenty of time to check in and clear customs.

I stay at Raffles and use them for stopovers. It is a 3 star hotel within 250m of the airport. They have a courtesy bus (mini van with its logo on the side) just outside international arrivals. If you miss it, you can walk. When you exit international arrivals, follow the road leading out of the airport. When you reach the T-intersection, Raffles is directly across the road. It takes 3-5 mins to walk.

Their rooms are clean and comfortable. They have a meals area, billiard area with bar with overhead tvs and two pool areas (use the one past the bar area with the slide). The staff are very helpful.
