Active Croatia Holiday

My sister and I are flying in to Dubrovnik on 29 May and are planning on staying a night or two in that city, then heading out. As yet, we have no real agenda. We want to have a fairly active holiday with some hiking, biking and kayacking but we aren't sure where the best places to go for that. Also, can we get involved in 2 or 3 day kayacking or bike tours once we get there or do we need to plan this in advance?

Is accomodation easy to get when we arrive at each destination or do we have to get busy with booking?

In late May, early June you can book on arrival.

I know there are kayak tours in Dubrovnik.

I have rented bikes on Korcula. Scooter rental is fun too, to get you to better beaches.

Walking is my favorite activity, such gorgeous scenery.

It's a big country, but you are guaranteed to find outdoor activity whereever you end up. The tourist offices can help you find rooms and give info on the kinds of activities you are seeking.

That time of the year is easy to book once you arrive. Try private apartments they are a better value with more room and with kitchens should you feel the need to prepare any food. From Dubrovnik head up the coast either by bus, or rent a car or best by ferry boat. Try Kortula for stop one, then head to Hvar a beautiful town, then depending on your time, go to Split for a great small city. On the islands you will be able to take in all kinds of activities. Other nearby islands include Brac, and Vis all with ferry service. If you stay along the coast and travel by Car check out Mostar, Ston and Omis on the trip to Split. You will have a lot of choices.
