Suggested Itineraries

Hello everyone,

My partner and I (we're from Canberra, Australia) are currently planning a New York/U.K./Europe trip for the end of May 2011 (approximately 1 month). and amongst other European countries, we're going to travel through Croatia.

We''ll have about 4 days (this could change) and we'd like to go to Plitvice Falls. Apart from that, we don't really know much about Croatia. Is Dubrovnik worth a visit or is Pula just as good if not better?

Something worth noting is that we're on a small (but not backpacking) budget and will be travelling with a Eurorail, budget airline or Ferry if necessary.

Any suggestions are welcome :-)

But a couple of pushbikes and try cycling around. We did. Great for when you get to the islands too. We are off to a wedding at Dugi Otek in 4 weeks and will be on the' pushy.'

For 4 days, you should focus on one area only and maybe a good choice, if targeting Plitvice, would be to stick to Zadar. It is also less expensive than Dubrovnik.

Both Pula and Dubrovnik are worth visiting although Dubrovnik is quite unique.

You should do more research on what you are looking for in a destination and then we would be able to give better answers

Agreed that if you want to go to Plitvice then you should spend your time in Zadar, which is a nice place to spend some time. Hard to fit in Dubrovnik and Plitvice in that short of time since the distance between is quite far. But one thing you could do is to fly into Zagreb, take a day trip from there to Plitvice and then take a Croatian Air flight from Zagreb to Dubrovnik.
