Hvar to Dubruvnik

What is the best way to get from Hvar to Dubruvnik? I am seeing a stop over in Korcula and no direct route in my research. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!!

Fastest and most frequent is without car catamaran Hvar town to Split and bus to Dubrovnik...the bus station is a few feet awy from the dock and busses run hourly! If catamaran tickets are sold out then Hvar town to Stari Grad by shuttle bus then the large car ferry ( always room for pedestrians) to Split and bus to Dubrovnik. If you are with a car then drive the full length of Hvar island to Sucuraj and ferry to Drvnik and about 100 kms left to Dubrovnik!

Thank you. How long is the bus? Looking for the fastest route or best route since it is only a ten day vacation. If Korcula is worth seeing for 24 hours then maybe that route would work. Are there ever direct ferries from Hvar to Dubrovnik?

Split-Dubrovnik is about 5 hours by bus..you have no other choice as if you look at the map its one road along the coast between the sea and the mountains. If you take the ferry from Hvar to Lorcula then a day later you have two busses 3 hours travel time to Dubrovnik. I would not go to the extra travel time to korcula for a 24 houe stop..10 days means your probably touring rest of Croatia or another county, here in Croatia to have the best chance to find a seat on a bus or catamaran or ferry choose the popular routes like Split-Dubrovnik the busses run alway on schedule!!

Agree that you should just take the bus and not worry about getting to Korcula....the coastal road will have some terrific views and the time will fly with all the beauty in front of you.

Thank you for the help! May do the ferry and bus combination to avoid going back to split? Would this be the fastest way?

I think if you time it right the bus will actually be faster than the ferry...the ferry is pretty slow moving to Dubrovnik via Korcula...but that ferry only runs twice per week in high season.

if you wish, there's a daily catamaran at 16.15 from Hvar to Vela Luka on Korčula (by bus to Korčula town), then onwards to Dubrovnik by bus. jadrolinija.hr/pdfs/9604.2013.ljeto.hr.pdf

Korčula island is not a bad place to stay for 24 hours before Dubrovnik, as it is an agricultural island, with lots of wine and olive trees. the Korčula town is a kind of a small urban jewel for its comb-shaped urban plan, and, the legend says, the birthplace of Marco Polo... it will give you a kind of intro before getting to Dubrovnik. a bit more of an intro would be to stop on the way in Ston (when you land in Orebić, across from Korčula, then by bus some 70km), with its great wall, traditional saltworks and oyster orchards, once a defence outpost and periphery of Dubrovnik.
