Zagreb, Plitvice, Split, Brac, Dubrovnik transportation

I'm hoping for some assistance with our mode of travel, and a hire car is not an option.

Arrive in Zagreb August 8, then heading to Plitvice Lakes for 2 nights. Next to Brac, for 7 days, then to Dubrovnik for 2 nights, before flying out, August 19.

Is the shuttle-bus from the airport to the to Zagreb central easy to locate? The bus from Zagreb to Plitvice seems straight forward, but would the TA community advise a bus from Plitvice to Split or would a return to Zagreb for a flight make more sense? Once in Split, are there several ferry options to Brac, From there, is there a separate bus system from Split to Dubrovnik? Any assistance would be invaluable! Thx

the shuttle bus from the airport to Zagreb is easy to locate, it's at the international arrivals.

The return to Zagreb for a flight would make sense if you're not going to Dubrovnik.

For ferries from Split to Brac, check www.jadrolinija.hr.

For buses from Split to Dubrovnik, they run every hour or so.

Get the bus from Plitvice to Split. It's no quicker getting the bus back to Zagreb and flying to Split. Lots of ferries between Split and Brac and buses between Split and Dubrovnik.

Happybypleasure, Thank you for taking the time to assist. Our departure flight is out from Dubrovnik, so we will be heading there after Brac. Would you recommend the flight option from Zagreb to Split, or would that be too much backtracking, for a flight? As we want to make the most of the trip, we are unsure if the 5-7 hour bus trip from Plitvice to Split would be the recommended way to see Croatia.

The bus from Plitvice to Split won't take that long--I recall it being about 4 hours.

Which town are you staying in on Brac? You will most likely take the ferry to Supetar, and you can take a bus from there. http://www.jadrolinija.hr/en/home

For Dubrovnik, you will return to Split and take a bus (also about 4 hours).

Lovgoin,

Great information, thank you! Four hours, on a bus sounds manageable. Is the bus schedule and timetable, on Brac something we can ascertain, on arrival?

Assuming you are arriving at Supetar and traveling to Bol (let us know if otherwise), the bus schedule can be searched at this website: http://www.autotrans.hr

It usually somewhat aligns with the ferry schedule, but when I was there I waited less than 30 minutes. That bus takes 30-45 minutes, so if you are going to Bol note there is also a catamaran from Split to Bol (search on the jadrolinija website).
