Tours out of Dubrovnik

We'll be in Dubrovnik end of August; have never been. Best suggestions for day boat tours? Should we wait and just book from there? Thanks!

Providing the weather is good, get the catamaran to the Mljet national park. You can't book it in advance.

Elafiti islands (Kolocep, Lopud and Sipan) - either by excursion or by local boat, Lokrum island just off the old port in the old town, with boats every 15 minutes, Mljet obviously, and Cavtat... Book when in Dubrovnik or check www.jadrolinija.hr for local boats.

Mljet! The Nona Ana leaves from Dubrovnik, it takes about an hour and half. It stops in Sobra and Polace, but Polace is much closer to the lake (where the 900 y/o monastery is located). You can walk to the lake from Polace (about an hour) or there's a bus which takes you there (The bus departs from Sobra and stops in Polace along the way) I just came back from 10 days on Mljet ;) 2nd trip. Love the place.
