Transportation advice pls

We are a party of 4 who will be arriving in Zagreb mid-April. The plan is to travel from Zagreb into Slovenia (Lake Bled and Divaca) for about a week, before returning to Croatia via Rovinj, down Plitivic Lakes, Zadar, Split and Dubrovnik, before flying back up to Zagreb for our flight home.

Appreciate some advice on a couple of questions please:

a) Car Rental - which car rental agency would you recommend for travel between the 2 countries - one that has good support, adequate insurance coverage and reasonably priced?

b) Have been trying to find the ferry timetable for Dubrovnik - Mljet. Went to the G&V website but not sure if I'm understanding it. COuld anyone kindly advice where to find a current timetable? We are looking to do a day trip there between 5 - 7 May. If there are no suitable time, would going with a travel agency be better? If so, any recommendations?

Appreciate your time looking and this post and hope to get some tips/advice. Many thanks!

This page has the G&V line timetables:

The first timetable (winter) runs through the end of May. It leaves Dubrovnik at 14,30, so not really set up for day trips. The tourist office or any agency in Dubrovnik will be able to help you with excursions to Mljet.

Keep in mind 2 things. It's a very long way to drive, with many nice and interesting places along the way. And Croatia is a right-hand drive country as in you drive on the right side of the road. If you're used to that ok, if not, such a long journey could be tricky and stressful.
