Travel by train to Ogulin, change for Vrhovine and get to a bus there. It is much more convenient to travel by bus from Zagreb.
Thank you! But I'm confused. Is it more convenient to travel by bus to Plitvice from Zagreb or from Vrhovine?
I would say from Zagreb, change your train to bus here.
Buses go through the park and will drop you off next to the entrance.
There are more buses from Zagreb to Plitvice than trains from Ogulin to Vrhovine, Bus link from Vrhovine to Plitvice is problematic, too.
For some people the magic of travel is in finding solutions for complicated situations in foreign countries and for others it is in collecting as many snapshots as possible .
Sounds like it's better to get on the bus in Zagreb than in Vrhovine.
For me the magic of traveling is in walking around in wonderful places like Plitvice, rather than in looking at schedules in bus stations. For helping me do the first more than the second in my precious time in Europe, I thank you.
There are 6-7 daily departures to Plitvice from Zagreb, you will find the schedule here:
I am visiting Croatia in end May, and planning to visit Plitvice from Zagreb and return within one day. I understand that the return bus from Plitvice to Zagreb is not frequent. I am afraid I may be stranded in Plitvice if I miss the bus.
Is it better to stay the night in Plitvice and take the bus next day to Zagreb, or is it a better option to go to spend the night in Zadar (from Plitvice), and return to Zagreb the next day?
You won't have a problem getting the bus back to Zagreb, check the bus link given here.
Thanks for your reply. But the link dosen't seem to be posted.
