We are 4 persons and plan to be in Bucharest 28December to 02 January. Have been looking for day tours but there doesn't seem to be anything available. Any suggestions.?

Do you mean tours of Bucharest or tours starting from Bucharest ?

For Bucharest try the free walking tour ( tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g294458-d2… ).

For day trips outside the city you don't necessarily need a tour, you could just take a train to the mountain resorts on the upper Prahova valley (Sinaia, Busteni; ~2 hours travel time, tickets ~€9) or to Brasov in southern Transylvania (~3 hours travel time, ~€11).

You could check out www.blueducktours.com they can help you with whatever you need and they also have a nice offer for a New Years Party.

There are agencies in Bucharest offering tours to Bran/Dracula``s Castle, Valea Prahovei, etc. , also you have the walking tour suggested above. For a new year`s eve you could pick a bar/disco/pub, a lot of fun there.

We just came back from Romania, and through www.toursbylocals.com we chose Andrei Arabolea. It was amazing. We made a two day tour of important cities and fortified churches and he took as everywhere we wanted to go and went the extra mile to make sure we were happy and saw everything we wanted. Price was very reasonable and he was even willing to add a few extra stops with no charge. He spoke excellent English and he can customize your tour to accommodate your time available and interests. Can't imagine a better way to see Romania, either Bucharest or elsewhere in the country. Highly recommended, we enjoyed it very much and everything was easier with a native speaker and a nice safe car. We gave him our budget and our ideal tour and he offered us a tour to suit our needs.

Try www.unknownbucharest.com. We have just returned from the city & Cristina gave us a great day tour around there. We had told her the things we wanted to see & she also made suggestions. We were out about 8 hours & we not only saw lots of things but it was so good to be able to find out about/discuss the more recent history of the country.

If you want to go further afield we had a great 2 day tour with www.unzippedromania.com to Transylvania, though they do day tours too. Diana & Christian were excellent & also spoke very good english

Hi

Did you actually do a tour with ducktours?. They appear to be a very new company.
