Hello. I hope someone can untie my brain! I'm going to Moscow in a round a month, have a letter of invitation and just need to get my visa. There seems to be so much contradictory information on the web, and it's hard to tell which are the "official sites". I had thought I would go to the Russian Embassy in Kensington between the hours of 9-12 with all the necessary documentation including the form downloaded from this site: http://london.rusembassy.org/rusvisa.html
However, in other places it says you can no longer queue at the embassy, and that they have outsourced the whole process to vfs, and have to fill in an online form. Can anyone confirm this categorically? I'd prefer to avoid paying the additional fee if this isn't really the case!
