http://ru.vfsglobal.co.uk/ Everything you need to know is here, you just need visa support documents which can be purchased from the internet or supplied from hotels you book with.

Hi all,

I have a follow-up question to graig t's post. I'm also traveling to Russia in May and have a few questions I haven't been able to figure out yet.

1) Can you apply to any consulate or embassy, or do you have to apply to the one with jurisdiction over your area? I don't want to apply in DC if I can avoid it since I have heard about a lot of problems there, but I live in Georgia (russianembassy.org/page/russian-consulates-i…).

2) Have visa photo requirements changed recently? I followed the guidelines on the NY Consulate website saying that the face should be 50% of the photo area (http://www.ruscon.org/forms/PhotoSpecs.htm), but that was pretty different from what Walgreens had a file for Russian passport photos.

3) How can you deal with flexible travel plans on the visa application? My family knows the rough dates when we will travel, but the exact return date isn't set yet. Is there a way that we can hedge our trip dates before and after even if we have to cancel the hotel?

Thanks for all the help. I've found the visa rather confusing despite a lot of research.

3) If you buy the invitation online you can ask them to put any dates you want.
