Trip advisor party in Penomme

OK everyone,

The countdown is on. 8 MORE SLEEPS!!!!!!!

We have posted before for those of us going February 19 to March 5 we would like to get a group together to go into Penomme to check out the carnival. I believe the carnival will end February 21st.

Who wants to go Tuesday??

or Wednesday??

I"ve heard it's hard to get a ride back to the resort if you are there after 6:00 pm so we were thinking 1:00 - 5:00pm

We can arrange to meet in the lobby.

Hope to hear from everyone going at that time.

Dave and Maryann.

Carnaval is a day long celebration. The daytime party on the streets consists of "mojadera" which basically means getting wet. The party starts in the morning, maybe 9-10am and continues all day, with people wearing shorts, etc. Drinking continuosly and getting wet with the water trucks spraying water. There will be tipical carnaval music (Murga), as well as other. If you get there at 1pm, you will find that the party is well under way, and maybe winding down a bit as people move to eat or go to the "jorones" or places were they can continue the party. Some people will go rest in the mid late afternoon in preparation for the night. Try to get there earlier than 1pm. Wear something you don't mind getting wet on, but can still be protected from the sun. Use a hat. You may want to take a beverage container that's large, insulated and closed, so that you won't have to refresh your drink too often, and closed so that water wont spoil your beverage. You should try and go at least one night to see the floats and "comparsas" during the night parade, because it's totally different from the day and very traditional. Also, Penonome is famous for the river parade in "Las Mendozas", which is a river pool (dam) where people usually go to swin, etc.

Hey Craig and Heather,

We are leaving for T.O. this afternoon. We got a room overnight so we don't have to drive in the morning.

Good luck with your flight to T.O. today.

We are probably heading into Penomme Tuesday morning so hopefully we'll be able to track each other down.

I'm 6'1 with short brown hair and Maryann is short with straight blonde hair. We'll be the one's with a big smile on our face because.....

We're outa here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See you at the airport!
