Royal Decameron-Panama

Hi,

I am thinking of going to The Royal Decameron for 2 weeks in Oct. I was also given the option to spend the first 10 days at the Decameron and the last 4 at the Raddison is Panama City. Has anyone ever done this before?

If so, would you suggest it?

What is the food like at each place and what about the beaches?

Thank You

Hi

Im panamanian, I strongly recomend Decameron or Playa Blanca Beach Resort both are really good. But, my recomendation is that in October, Panama, wich is the greatest country in the world, its too rainny, rains about three hours arround 10:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m. for that date, September, October and Novermber are really heavy rain, but its really hot and sunny in the morning and after the rain, but the Hotel's choice is really good, I really enjoyed either one.

The Raddison Decapolis is very modern and good, nice facilities, good sushi and martini bar, right in the best Commerce Area, two Malls near by Multicentro, right next to with really nice restaurants at the terrace, or the Multiplaza Pacific Mall, with very modern, nice and some exclusive boutiques, great to go and have fun, plus the Radisson is one block away to Extreme plantet that have the Biggest Bennigans I'd ever seen tavern wich has capacity for over 400 people and great happy hours and sangrias every Thursday for ladies from 5 p.m to 10 p.m, and Fridays 3 x 1 drinks or beers, like 10 TVs playing sports and one big screen for that also, and a little bit loud music, but its fun, once in a while.

The Radisson it's right two blocks from all the Bars and clubs all kind of clubs from latin music to electronic, rave, etc...

Thats my reccomendation,

Thank you so much for your post. I just have a couple of questions, I was told that it just rains a little each day, I didn't know it rained all day everyday in oct:(?1

Also, you had mentioned happy hour at the Radisson. I thought most food and drinks were included at the Radisson? We would be going to the Decameron for 10 days and then the Radisson for 4....I thought both were all inclusive?

I heard that not everything is included at the Radisson, for. ex. if you want more expensive Martini's etc. That being said, some drinks and all meals are included am I correct or no?

October is a very rainy month in Panama. The RD is in a dryer area of Panama, so it will be less of an issue while at the beach, although it can still rain. Panama city will have more rain than the RD area, but it usually doesn't rain all day. It tends to rain more in the afternoon, so try to plan your outdoor activities in the morning. Food, beer, some wines and house liquors (not "brands") will be included, they will let you know. It can be confusing as most of the guests are not in the "all-inclusive" plan.

Thank you so much for the quick reply. Has anyone does this 10 days at Decameron and 4 days at Radisson. I do want to book it, I just want to be 100% I am going to really like it. I have been away many times before, this just seems to be a little different. Also, now I am a little concerned about the rain, which is likely why the price is so good.

Don't worry about the rain. You'll have a good time regardless.

Hi Lee

As I mention before, October is rainny season, but only about two or three hours a day, and not everyday, but when its rain, it doe it, but early in the mornings and late the afternoons you can do all kind of activities.

About staying 10 days in the beach its totally up to you, remember that the Decameron has different options like tour through the Panama Canal, or go to the Colon Duty Free Zone, or going to El Valle that's is very nice and cool, enjoy more options, so from Decameron you can do soooo many things in 10 days, and about the Radison Decapolis it depends on your rate, I mentioned the Happy hours also for another restaurants and bars in the area, not in the hotel. 4 days its pretty good.

You can visit Panama La vieja, first city build, destroyed by english pirates, or the Casco Antiguo that its Old Panama City built after the pirates invasion, and so many other things in Panama, like the Panama Canal Museum, or the Miraflores Locks, good timing between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. when the majority of vessels transit the Canal so you can see boats or Panamax going through the Locks

But trust me, you'll enjoy Panama a lot...

Lee,

Make sure you take the 4 days in PC, I think you might get bored with all 2 weeks at the beach(which is a bit isolated)

I have never stayed at a Radisson that was all inclusive, it must be a specific package deal tied in with Decameron, I would bet that most of the other guests staying there are on business and are paying for meals and drinks a la carte.

The Radisson is a pretty good location(although I would recommend the Marriott in the Cangrejo district).

It is attached to a mall & casino, lots of dining options close by or a short (and cheap) cab ride away.

Thank you for the reply. It is a special package that is offered in conjuction with the Decameron.

Have you been to the Decameron before? What did you think of the food?
