There are direct flights from Newark and JFK. I am not sure about Toronto.
There are direct charters from Toronto to Panama so ask at any large reputable travel agent...
Do you want to come on a guided tour or just find out how to fly here?
www.gapadventures.com are a reputable outfit that has trips to Panama...
To fly from Toronto, the most direct route is Delta to Atlanta and then to Panama.
There are surprisingly few charter companies flying into Panama out of Toronto. Have only been able to find Sunwing and Nolitours and the choice of hotels is VERY limited.
I have looked at GAP Adventures, unfortunately, we're only planning a 6-7 day trip, so most of their packages, while interesting, are simple too long for us.
Am looking into Condor Outfitters, but would like to hear from someone who has previously traveled with them.
Hi Scrap....just curious why your vs personal travel? Panama is a pretty easy place to get around and a beautiful country.
I'm not sure what your question was, seems to be a few words dropped out...
But let me see if I can clear things up a bit. I really like the idea of having all/most things planned and paid up front. I realize this is probably a little more expensive, but part of vacation for me is not having to worry about budgeting the available dollars and making sure that there is enough to last the week.
Gotcha. I'm always curious about "tours" vs "free lance" travel. We have done both, based on destinations. China, as example, was tour and I would not tackle that country free lance for a number of reasons. Other countries, like CR, Mexico, and Caribbean Country or Panama are pretty easy to go it without being "on a bus" so to speak. Just our style I guess. I trust you will enjoy the visit and history, along with the geology, animal and people of this beautiful country!
Don't get me wrong, I speak pretty fluent Spanish, so I tend to strike up conversations easily with the locals and try to look past the "official" version of the country the tourism industry promotes.
But having said that, I like the security of a group and having everything ready ahead of time means I'll get more done in my short time, rather than spending time trying to figure out what to do next and how to go about it.
Still looking for someone who has travelled with Condor Outfitters.
Never heard of Condor Outfitters but...
Pre-arrangement doesn't necessarily mean traveling with a group.
you can use tour operators to plan 'independent' vacations where you are escorted by a guide (or transfers only and the guide meets you at your accommodation for various tours.
Or, you can take a vacation with a group.
Pre arranging, prepaying, all bases covered, on a 6 -7 day itinerary is easy to do with an operator who offers customized tours.
Ok, Barbara, I'll bite... where can I find info on that type of guide/travel/arrangement?
