Weather in September

We have been pretty set on our trip to Panama at the end of September (22nd-29th), but the long-term weather forecast is calling for thunderstorms on most days in September. Should I be concerned? Are these storms likely to last all day or would they just be storms that last for a few hours? What activities would still be open to us if we are staying in Panama City during a particularly stormy week?

In the Pacific Beach area, the rainy season is roughly May thru December This area is considered the "dry arc" in Panama and will get much less rain than Panama City and the mountain, rain forest areas. Very rarely would you get all day rains in the Pacific Beaches area.

It will be hot and often you will pray for clouds.....This year it has been terribly dry and HOT here, so we are happy when it rains. Come on down!

When it rains, it is warm rain except in the mountain, rain forest areas.

Life does not end when it rains here. There is no reason that you cannot do most of your activities; and nothing closes down or stops because of rain - -now in the rain forests aerial trams may not operate and boat trips may be delayed, but otherwise bring umbrellas and shoes that will dry overnite......like crocs - hate them, but very useful for drying out.

In the mountain areas and rainforests, you may get heavy downpours and the temperatures are much cooler.

Looking at weather a month away is the same here as in Toronto - can you really rely on that?

Hope this helps !
