Hurricane damage?

We are thinking of a December holidays vacation in Panama but I heard there was a bit of damage from Hurricane Isaac. Can anyone describe what areas were effected and make recommendations as to which areas were not effected?

Hurricanes by-pass Panama. They are always north of Panama. Isaac was hundreds of miles to the north.

Panama and surrounding islands are always Hurricane-Free.

Panama is the only country in Central America in a climate zone that is absolutely hurricane-free. There has never been a single recorded hurricane to hit its shores. Come on down !

Hurricane Isaac may have caused some damage to Panama City, Florida but came nowhere near Panama City Panama (not even when it was a tropical storm).

No tsunamis either.
