a week in Pamana - need advice - thank you!

Hi All,

am planning Panama trip at the end of March.

Monday night - arriving at Panama City

Have resrvation at Sheraton Bijao Beach Resort (Santa Clara) from Thursday afternoon through Monday morning

Monday night - flying out of Panama City

Am trying to figure out how to fit it all together: canal tour (or is it better to just watch from Miraflores Visitor Center?), city sightseeing - and Casco Viejo in particular, some nature seeing (we are travelling with kids who are excellent travellers)

Gamboa Rainforest resort looks nice but am a bit puzzled on the best way to think the logistics of it all and get to Santa Clara

Appreciate your help!

All the things you mentioned wanting to see are surprisingly close to Panama City. You could very easily do Miraflores in the morning and Casco Viejo in the afternoon. On Wednesday, you could go to Gamboa and stop off at the Summit Park Zoo on the way there or back. El Valle is your best opportunity for getting out in nature and going for a hike in the rainforest. It's within 20 minutes of Bijao.

Thank you so much! For the best Canal experience would you recommend just going to Miraflores or actually taking a canal semi transit tour?

Those who have taken a transit tour generally say it is a lot better - though whether it is 20 times better I don't know.

Others feel they get enough from the visitor centre.

I suspect it is a personal matter whether the extra cost is worth paying.
