My wife and I are trying to plan a trip to Panama, our first time to Panama. We want to go in early December of this year (2013), for approximately 6-8 nights or so. We like very nice places to stay, and we are not normally all-inclusive types. We enjoy hiking and seeing new things. Would also like to have a couple of chill out beach type days, or half days with some activity completing the day. We're both in our late 50s. We think we might enjoy spending time in/near the rain forest/national parks that would afford us with some hiking or biking activities.
We would probably fly in to Panama City. Thinking about 1 or 2 nights to see the canal and maybe the old city. Were considering flying to David, renting a car (if necessary) and then visiting Boquete for 2-3 nights. Then maybe a beach side city for another 2-3 nights, and then back to Panama City for our flight back home.
In general...has the rainy season ended by the 1st week in December? We don't mind a shower here and there, but we're not up for constant rain on our entire trip either.
We are open to any and all of your suggestions. Since this will be a last minute trip, no plans have been made yet so this trip is very flexible at this time.
