Copa flies to Guayaquil and from there you can get out to the Galapagos by plane or boat.

Thank you so very much for this tip. I had read about the connection after I did my post. Do I need to be wary about changing countries- or do anything special to be able to do so like get visas or anything? Have you done this yourself?

Visas all depend on your nationality - look up visa requirements for Ecuador...

As for changing countries - just don't try to carry anything you shouldn't - lots of folks languishing in jails for trying that!!!

Visas are not necessary for American citizens entering Ecuador.
