alcohol and Good Friday

My understanding is that no alcohol is available in the city on Good Friday. April 2. Is this true, and if so does that include hotels and casino's?

Hi!

That is true. The only place where alcohol is served is at the all-inclusive resorts on the Pacific coastline.

Establishments can get a huge fine if they are caught selling any type of alcohol on Good Friday. Grocery stores, etc. can't sell any alcohol either.

Are you sure the AI's serve? why would they not be under the same law?

The ban is from midnight to midnight.

Cheers,

Hi!

For some reason all of the all-inclusive resorts (Decameron and Playa Blanca) have always had alcohol available on the resorts in the past.

I was at Woody's yesterday and they told me that the were going to be closed on Friday. On the other hand, XS Memories in Santa Clara will be open, but no alcohol.

The all-inclusives in Bocas served alcohol on semana santa, and others served, but only in a paper cup....rules are made to be broken
