Trump Tower or Hard Rock

We are considering PC at Thanksgiving. Does anyone have a preference on either Trump Tower or Hard Rock Hotel. I have never seen such a vast difference in SERVICE. Hard Rock's service never gets a compliment and Trump Tower never has a bad word said about their service.

Secondly, does anyone have a feel on "Traditional Thanksgiving Dinner in Panama City? It's tough not to imagine Turkey, Mashed Pototatos, Dressing and Gravy. Not to mention pumpkin pie.

To the Hardrock PR - tripadvisor forum is not really a place to pimp your hotel, while all of the above maybe true it is against TA rules to tout your own hotel.

Mashalo, closer to the date we will better be able to guide you for your traditional dinner.

I know the Balboa Yacht Club hosts some ex-at thing every year there for Thanksgiving. It is mobbed according to friends who went. I don't like crowds so can't personally advise if the food was good or bad.

Sorry, I meant "ex-pat" event, not ex-at.

I appreciate your response. We like to travel around Thanksgiving and often times this takes us to countries that do not share in the traditional Thanksgiving Dinner of turkey and football.

We were in Panama two years ago and stayed at the Radisson Summit, We enjoyed the hotel but no Thanksgiving. Mexico was fantastic and Costa Rica failed miserably last year.

Just like to have a sports bar to watch the Cowboys game and enjoy a dinner. The alternative is something fresh from the see and a cold Balboa Gold.

Thanks again for your response,

Mahalo (means "thank you" in Hawaiian)

Excellent Sports bar across from the marriott- gringo owner - best and cheapest wings inPC - i am sure he will be doing something for Turkey day

I should say across from the entrance if the casino attached to the Marriott

The bar across the street from the main entrance of the hotel - a whole different sporting event.

Last year we had a traditional Thanksgiving dinner at Luna Restaurant. I think it was $35/pp for a set menu that included pumpkin soup (surprisingly tasty), turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and pecan pie. Luna is one of the few restaurants in Panama City that has pretty good service consistently. It's located in Marbella on Calle 53 - not far from the Trump or Hard Rock.

I would have to say that $35 for a Thanksgiving Dinner is very fair. We always travel at Thanksgiving time whether it be Australia, Hawaii. Mexico, Costa Rica or Panama and I can sure live with $35.

We are considering a Condo in Panama in our future. I can't handle the current political and economic situation in the United States and I served in the Army at Ft Clayton back in the 60's. So, this trip is going to for some exploration.

We were in Panama two years ago and can't believe the changes. When I was there in the 60's a tall building was three stories tall. Love the people and perhaps Panama could be in the plans.
