Touring from Colon on way to Panama City airport

We are arriving into the port of Colon from a Windstar Cruise at 7:00AM.

Our departure flight is at 2:30PM from Panama City.

Do we have time to do any touring on the way to the airport?

Can you recommend a driver?

Thank you,

You should have time, depending on how long it actually takes you to get off the ship.

Make sure you know which airport you want.

You would have time to go to the visitors center at Miraflores locks and see a little of Casco Viejo, but not enough time to go elsewhere.

It's going to take an hour to get from Colon to Miraflores. The visitor's center doesn't open until 9:00, though. You could make use of that hour by going to see Gatun locks. I wouldn't recommend going to the visitor's center, but you'll have a very good view of the construction going on for the new locks, and you can see the original locks. Have your driver drop you off so you can walk across the pedestrian bridge. It's a great vantage point -- you'll see a close-up, water level view of the first chambers.

Miraflores and the museum are good for 90 minutes or so. Then, you could go by Casco Viejo on your way to (I assume) Tocumen. To be safe, figure an hour to get to Tocumen.

I would recommend getting a green, SET (Servicio Especial de Turismo) taxi at Colon. The SET drivers speak English and are knowledgeable about the area and its history. (What they don't know, they will make up with great confidence.) Tell the driver your time schedule and what you want to see, then negotiate a price. Typically, the Colon to Panama tour is around $70 per person for an all day trip. Since he'll be back in Colon by 2:00 pm, you should be able to get a lower price.
