I recently heard that one of the Panama airlines is going out of business. We are about ready to book flights. I am worried booking flights
That happened in February when Aeroperlas stopped operations in Panama. Don't worry, you can't book a flight with them.
The only remaining in-country airline is Air Panama. Their website is a little screwy and they don't respond to emails (just like most Panama's hospitality industry). In the past, the website hasn't allowed you to book flights more than 60 days in advance. Don't know if that's been fixed or not. Also, be very careful not to book a flight twice. Often, you won't get a confirmation page or an email confirming your flight but you'll find that your credit card has been charged. Some people assume the reservation didn't go through and redo the booking, which results in two tickets and two charges on your card. If your card is charged, you have the reservation on record and you'll get your ticket when you show up at the airport.Edited: 31 December 2012, 20:40
