Roughly $75 to $100. The drive is a little over an hour. The issue is that the driver will probably have to "deadhead" back to Panama City without a fare. Be sure to negotiate the price before you get into the taxi.

Taxis are not metered and are supposed to charge by the city's zone system. Many drivers make a practice of gouging tourists because they have learned that American tourists will pay whatever they are told. The worst place to get a taxi is in front of your hotel. The "taxi wranglers" get kickbacks from the taxi drivers for increasing the fare, and if you ask the doorman how much the fare will be, he will likely double the price and take a kickback from the driver. So, the optimum is to go across the street and catch a taxi at the curb. (Again, settle the fare before you get in.) If you have too much luggage to do that, avoid the doorman and talk directly with the driver to agree on a price.

Vacations to Go owns Pullmantur Cruises. These are older boats built mostly in the late 80's, early 90's. That is why they don't have a transfer, the cruise price is low enough they figure they don't have to offer one.

If you want a shuttle driver to get you from your hotel to the pier contact jose@goldenfrog.net to see what he will charge you. Jose speaks English, has his own vans and is reliable.

Have fun on your cruise.

I highly recommend John Pauli as a driver in Panama City. He picked us up at Canopy Tower (fabulous ecolodge in the middle of a national forest). He lived in the US for over 20 years so his English is perfect plus he knows several other languages. Delightful man and as his card states: "Safe. Reliable. Punctual."
