Superb guide in Panama and Panama City

We recently returned from spending two days in the Panama Canal area . We were guided by a superb guide named Kenny Weeks. Speaks English like an American. He listens! We told him what we wanted to do and he delivered it perfectly. We were meeting a ship in Colon and he tracked the ship’s schedule to be sure that we could use every minute. He arranged for a tour of the biodiversity museum while everyone said it was not open yet. We saw the canal and the construction of the new canal. Shopped local (non tourist) markets. Saw the real Panama. He knows everybody.

We paid him $200 per day which is high by Panama standards but he was well worth it for the value he added to the trip. He picked us up at the airport at 8 AM in a nice clean Toyota Rav 4, and delivered us to the ship the next day at 5. I could not be happier with his services. Highly recommended.

$200 a day is outrageously high.

Yes. One could probably save $50 a day or so. We judged that it wasn't worth trying to scrimp. We toured the Biodiversitrty museum with Kenny while everybody else reported that their guides said it was closed. Is that worth an extra $100 for 2 days. We think so.

The biodiversity museum is amazing. They asked us not to post pix so as not to scoop the grandopen9ng.

It is not s serious science museum. More of half museum, and half Disneyland. Dramatic tracing of various kinds of life. Incredible architecture. Dramatic use of TV walls and floors.
