What to wear ?

My grandson graduates from Annapolis Naval Accademy in May

2011 and I do not know what to wear. Any ideas?

Congratulations. You won't be underdressed in a jacket and slacks.

Be aware of the weather. It could be very hot and humid or cool and rainy. In my opinion, you can never be overdressed.

Search google images, flickr, or the like for photos of prior years' graduations. I have no doubt you'll find some, and that will tell you more about the dress level than could any words of random strangers.

With all due respect to TFC, the only random person here is is he who has never posted in the Annapolis forum before. It is a graduation, like any other except the graduates will have uniforms and not gowns. People will be dressed in everything from short sleeves to ties and jackets. You should wear what you will be comfortable in.

Looking at pictures will confirm this to be the case.

But for those more visual, here are pictures from the Baltimore Sun (especially #4)
