Help me sell Nantucket to my husband!

Hello Everyone,

My husband's family has a home on the Cape. We have been going there together for 26 years. I have always wanted to go to Nantucket. He was there 30+ years ago and isn't inclined to go back.

I have told them that our mid-Sept trip to the Cape WILL include an overnight to Nantucket. Was thinking of staying at The Wauwinet for a night. How's the bike riding on Nantucket at that time year? He is into cycling and I thought it would be a fun way to get him on board with the idea.

Any other suggestions for cool, off-the-beaten path things to do within a 24-36 hour period most appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

If he goes maybe he will get lucky.and bike riding should be good.

Hopefully getting lucky is enough but if not...

Promise me the bike riding we'll be great, and then we've got a back up plan!

If you're going mid-September you might want to stay at a romantic, historic 'in town' B&B instead of at The Wauwinet. Depends on what you're looking for; Wauwinet will be pretty quiet then.

Thanks for the suggestion, Gams.

Other than the in-town location, what would the other advantages be? Isn't there a jitney at The Wauwinet that takes guests into town? How far is The Wauwinet from town?

I was thinking of the Wauwinet for it's oceanside/bayside location, reputation, Topper's, etc. But if there is a place in town that you think can meet or top these things, I am certainly open it.

Also, how does Dune compare to Toppers? We will only have one night there, so which is the better dining option?

Appreciate your advice.

The better dining option is Toppers! Bon Appetite.
