parking in split for ferries

We are going to Hvar for a couple of days and wonder if there is parking in Split near the ferries or is it better to take our car. How much is parking versus how much is it to take a car on the ferry.

Ferry to Stari Grad and back costs 700 kuna for a normal car, you can find all the price on the Jadrolinija site.

No idea about parking prices, maybe you can negotiate with them for a longer parking?

For Hvar town you do not need a car.

The parking price in harbour was 10 kuna or behind the bus station - 7 kuna; I think they didn't change the prices

Is that per day or per hour. Any more specific direction coming from the south coast to get to the parking

That would be ten kuna per hour by the harbour. It gets quite expensive if you leave the car in that lot all day. But we were staying in the Old Town and didn't want to park anywhere else. So if you leave it in that lot it will be quite expensive by the time you come back. I think it will be safe there also.

Since the price will be about the same for leaving our car or taking it which type of boat will be more fun. Can you sit outside on either of the boats

You can definitely sit outside on the ferry.

Hi we are taking our car from split to Hvar, and I was wondering if you were able to find out how much parking was in Hvar? Thanks!

Maybe you could find a place to stay that has parking available for free?

our hotel in Split has a place for us to park, but then we are going to Hvar for 2 days and then to Dubrovnik. Would it be best that we leave the car in Split or bring it with us. I am not seeing a ferry that goes from Hvar to Dubrovnik. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated!

The ferry doesn't run very often between Hvar island and Dubrovnik so it might be best for you to take the car with you. After being done in Hvar Town you could always drive to Sucuraj on the east side of the island and then take the car ferry from there to Drvenik, which will get you a little closer to Dubrovnik, rather than having to ferry to Split and then drive down the coast.
