Does anyone have experience with renting a boat in Split?

Just curious... We're looking to possibly renting a boat for a day or two. I do have boating experience and would love to explore some of the outer islands.

for one or two days it is hard to get a boat in season--most rent for the week. An Aussie couple does day sails out of Split as well as some overnights, but it is not a bare boat. So if you want a bareboat to rent yourself, might be tough.

Try Ivana Juric who has three or four boats she and her husband rent at www.sail-in-croatia.com

Do you think that it may even be tough to find a one day rental during September?

September is not that busy so there should be no problems finding a boat

You should also note that to rent boats of certain engine sizes etc you have to have a certificate of sailing for renting - know this as one of our relatives tried to rent one here last year and could only rent a small boat as he had no "certificate" (cannot remember the name of this certificate !!)

Have a good trip !
