Options to travel to Mostar

Hi there,

Can anyone tell me what options are available for travelling between Dubrovnik and Mostar. We are looking to do a day trip but really don't want to do it by coach tour with another 40 tourists!

Is it easy to do it by public transport such as train?

If we hire a car is there a problem crossing the border onto Bosnia?

How much would it cost to hire a car and driver to take us there?

Thanks in advance.

1. There is no train in Dubrovnik.

2. Get yourself car and enjoy trip.

3. There is no problem crossing the border except if you don't intend to try to smuggle some illegal substance.

I'd take the car - just make sure they give you the Green Card for crossing the border and that the car is insured for travelling to Bosnia. Shouldn't be a problem in both cases. It's a great drive either way and you'll have plenty of nice stops along the way.

We used Cheap Dubrovnik Tours in early May for a few day trips from Dubrovnik. We used their car with a driver (private tour instead of large coach) so we didn't have to drive ourselves. We were very pleased with their services. If you contact them I believe they also rent vehicles if you'd like to drive yourself.
