From the main bus station, and there is a local bud from old town that will get you there.

I don't remember the cost but it should not be consequential. You can translate this page with google translate to find out:

I hope this is not a silly question:

Where is the Bus Station (which would get you to Split or Mostar) and how far is it from the old city or Lapad? Is there a city bus that can take you there, or is it an easy walk?

Are there day lockers there to keep lugage?

Bus costs around 15 Euro one way. You might consider also taking a minivan with a driver. Cost of renting would bi in the range of 250 to 300 Euro. Far more faster and convenient.

Private transport would be easy but not necessarily faster. If there is 5 of you surely a large car would be enough? 250 euro sounds expensive to me.
