coastal Croatia

We are flying from Vienna to Croatia to spend our last 4-5 days of our trip. We always like to stay near the coast so as to unwind a bit. We would visit a few beaches and do sightseeing in the afternoons and nights. Would Duvrovnick be a good area for us to stay and explore? Or is there another town you might suggest? We will rent a car for a couple of days so we can venture further out.

Thanks!

I think Dubrovnik is a great idea and maybe Split or Trogir would also fit in terms of what you are looking for.

In a couple of days you can drive from Zagreb to Zadar, than drive north toward Istria and return to Zagreb.
