Dubrovnik in October

We have our honeymoon in mid October and will be based in Dubrovnik. I'm aware this is the end of the season and some places may not be open, but can anyone let me know how 'closed' it is likely to be?

We plan to travel about a bit on day trips, chill out, enjoy some food and the odd wine or two. We quite fancy heading out the islands to have a wander too.

Any suggestions for places to go or things to do at that time of year would be appreciated.

There should be places open, hours will be shorter. The aquarium is wort a look. Consider a trip to Cavtat. If the boats are not running use the bus.

Don't worry, you will still find open places.

Things will still generally be open in Dubrovnik in October. If you want to get to the islands that are a bit further away like Mljet or Korcula you'll have to stay overnight or hire a car or see if organised excursions are still running.
