Whats sousse like? Is it a safe place ect

Hi

me and the misses are planning going here in September for a week.

Planning the Tej Mehaba or Mehaba beach.

I have read alot of negative reviews regarding how safe a place it is. Not really a concern for myself but it bothers the misses.

We have just come back from Sunnybeach for the 2nd time and loved it their.

Thanks in advance

apart from the hastle from shop keepers its a safe place to visit, you can walk around and feel safe, we walked of the tourist trails and never felt threatened, there are some places in the uk were you cant go at night,

If you can handle Sunny Beach. Sousse will be a doddle.

Connor

Basically I found the Tunisians more genuine and friendlier than the Bulgarians

We stayed at the Wela Hotel last time in SB. Most rude ignorant staff I have met anywhere on holiday

Sunny Beach was back in the day a great place.

Its changed out of recognition and appears now to be a haven for Eastern European gangsters and rip off merchants..We wont return

Anyway.

You want go far wrong at any of the Marhaba Hotels

Two main hotel groups with Marhaba in the name

Most are in the Sousse area.

feel free to ask more question if you decide on a hotel/resort

I live and work in Sousse with my family and we have never had a problem We have been here two years now. Of course, as in any tourist area, people will be trying to invite you to buy from their shops and so on. You might feel hassled at times. Just be polite and say "no thank you". Sousse is a city with a rich history-- make sure to get off the beach a bit and explore.

very true TT,

when we go to Luxor in Egypt we always head away from the tourist route and its a different world, the locals just get on and do their thing, its the same in Tunisia, if you go into the Medina in Sousse and head away from the main tourist route people are more relaxed and chatty,
