Kuangsi waterfall

Hi,

I am planning a trip to Laos in November-December.

On "youtube" I saw videos of people having fun (swimming, etc.) at Kuangsi waterfall south of Luang Prabang.

What is the cheapest transport from LP to the waterfall?

What is the approximate temperature of the water there?

Are there other nice waterfalls near LP?

Yes, Kuangsi waterfall is very beautiful and:

- There is no buses from LPQ to the waterfall, so if you wish to have the cheapest rate: rent a motobyce

- The temperature of water in Nov-Dec is around 28 celcius

- there is another beautiful water fall there called: Tad Sae water fall - 28 km far from LQP

Hi,

we visited the waterfalls in march 2yrs ago and they are cold... very cold... but well worth the dip if you can brave it.

As for getting there we just jumped in a tuk tuk, cheap and a fun way to get there.

You'll love Laos, it was our favourite place in SE Asia.

A great guest House in Luang Prabang is Tonys Guest House (not sure of the address but try just asking a taxi driver) it over looks the river

Kuangsi Waterfall is really, really nice and definitely worth a visit. We've just been there a few days ago.

The cheapest transport is probably by booking a tour through many of the travel agency. Downside of that is that you go in the afternoon with may others. Our guesthouse booked a tuk tuk for us (which was 20 US Dollar for two person) and we left at 9am. When we arrived it was still quite empty with hardly anyone there. It was quite busy from lunchtime onwards but still not overcrowded.

any of the travel agents along Th Sisavangvong should be able to sort out a half-day trip to the falls for about $4, in shared a/c minivan. Tad Se is another nearby waterfall with great pools for swimming, not as spectacular as Kuang Si, but still senic and worthwhile at that time of year.
