Luang Prabang in January

Hi. I gather from this forum that December can get a bit chilly in Luang Prabang. We will be there in January - will it be warming up by then? Will we need jackets for the evenings?

As we will be travelling with teenagers a pool is always good but the affordable hotels with pools seem to be further out of the city centre, and I would prefer to stay right in town. Will it be warm enough during the day to need a pool at our hotel?

Thanks for any advice :)

I can't imagine LP ever being cold. I wouldn't book a room the other side of the footbridge for one reason - the bridge is not always there. During my stay in Nov, the bridge disappeared after heavy rains (one day it was there, but the next not!)
