Elephant rides at waterfall

When in Luang Prabang we travelled about 20 mins to a village, boarded a long open boat for $1 travelled 10 mins to a waterfall, road elephants, had lunch, swam and even road elephants bareback into deep water , elephants ducking completely underwater and up to our necks under water for less than $10. Was amazing. Does anyone know the name of the waterfalls. There was a zip line through the trees as well.

Hi,

The nearest village is Ban Amen. You may be lucky in mid Jan but they really are best through the end of the rainy season and are pretty disappointing by Feb, so ask locally before you shell out for a trip out there.

Kuang Si is a better bet Jan/Feb, no elephants but bears instead.

Cheers
