First Time in Dubai - Where to stay

Hi All

We will be in Dubai in Aug 2010 for 2 days 1 night, stopping over from our London flight to Singapore. We will arrive at 6.30 am on Monday and depart at 2.30 am on Wednesday.

We are considering the following hotels:

Al Manzil Hotel

Qamardeen Dubai Hotel or

Radission Blu Deira Creek Hotel.

Which hotel would you recommend.

We intend to do the following:

Desert Safari on Monday evening

Junsui Spa Tea Journey on Tuesday

Deira Centre City Mall, Gold & Spice Souk

Dubai Mall, Burg Khalifa & its dancing fountains

Did I miss out any other must do sights.

Any information or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Sandy

You can consider staying at Star Boutique hotel,it is on perfect location overlooking the creek, yet not expensive, also 5 minutes walking distance from Deira City center. Do not miss to visit Dubai museum and Madinat Jumeirah at Jumeirah beach - lovely mall and great pictures from there to Burj Al Arab.

Thanks Tihi33 - Will check out the Star Boutique Hotel.

Do you know what is the opening hours for the souks and shopping malls during Ramandan. I know that the normal hours are 10.00 am to 10.00 pm except Fridays.

Thanks

Late opening in the morning and closing lately after mid night... Normal shopping will be in the evening so its not affecting much and there is a break in between 6-7 PM

Hello from Singapore :)

I think Al Manzil or Qamardeen are excellent choices as they are in a great area and are a short walk to Burj Khalifa, Dubai mall and the Dubai Fountain as well as tons of restaurants and cafes.

Also a shorter taxi ride to Burj al Arab than the Creek hotels.

Thanks All for the information.

How about Rose Rayhaan by Rotana, Is it in a good location with easy access to Burg Khalifa and Burg Al Arab.

Thanks

It is close to Burj Khalifa and about 15 minutes by taxi to Burj Al Arab.

It is also alcohol free - this may not be a concern to you but just thought I'd point that out.

Thanks Latiner for the information.

Based on the 4 hotels I am interested in, which hotel do you think is the best choice.

Either Al Manzil or Qarmardeen, whichever is cheapest for your dates.

Thanks Latiner.

Since 2 of you have recommended Al Manzil or Qamardeen, I will book Al Manzil immediately.

Hi All

As I will be arriving Dubai early in the morning and during Ramandan, please advise on what I can do in the morning and early afternoon before my evening desert safari tour.

I am interested in Deira Centre City Mall, Gold & Spice Souk, Dubai Mall, Burg Khalifa & its dancing fountains. Not sure if the malls and souks are open.

Any information and suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Sandy
