visa for USA passport?

I am sorry if this has been posted before. I did do a search but could find nothing recent on the need for a visa for the holder of a USA passport. I will be in Dubai for five days. Do I need a visa? Can I get one at DXB? Thanks!

Yes you do need a visa but at a US passport holder it will automatically be stamped in your passport at immigration.

You won't even notice it's happened unless you look

There is a link on the emirates website. I had the same question about an Aussie passport. The simple answer is no like Latimer has previously said.

Actually, as Latimer has said, the simple answer is yes. UK, USA and AUS passport holders (there are also many other countries) do not need to apply for a visa in advance of travel. You are allocated a visa on arrival. It is stamped in your passport at passport control and valid for 30 days..
