You will find most answers on the Emirates website: emirates.com/english/…

As long as you travel not to North or South America you will have 30kg in Economy class. Just pack your picture well and bring it with you to the check-in. If you have more than 30kg, buy additional kg online in advance, you will save 30% vs. paying at check-in counter.

Maybe check before flight directly with Emirates if you can check-in at standard desk or you need to go to specific desk given size of your picture.

i had already tried to look on the website but it says contact them, we are here already so thought someone may know. we may be at the 30kg limit so may have to pay for it.

I've found it very much depends on the mood of the person checking you in - but with regard to weight rather than size. I've been allowed to check in amount much higher than allowance several times but it's not something you should bet on.

Hi

It should not cost anything wrap it up and it will go in the 'odd shapes/delicate items' (for want of a better word) the check in desk will direct you to it. We took a framed picture a few years back and that's what happened you collect it from a special place in Dubai Airport it travelled perfectly

Regards

Doug
